Some of you might have already seen it, and some of you clearly havent: There is a new portfolio page. This portfolio page contains photo’s of handmade costumes.
The works are incredible and very well done. Lately I put them in the ‘People‘ folder, but in the end; It was not ‘it’. More and more photo’s came up and when I went to the carnavale in Venice, the album would have exploded if I put all those photo’s in.
Thats when I came up with the idea of a own portfolio page, just for the beautiful handmade costumes I have photographed.
Honestly it started about a year ago. I wrote a blog about ‘Cosplay’ and suddenly people started asking me if I wanted to photograph them in their cosplays. (Cosplayers are people, making the outfits of characters of cartoons, anime, manga, games or books.) So I said yes, and I went to Abunai. Soon enough people just came up to me and I had not a single free hour left on the convention. Everything was fully booked with cosplay shoots. The people were amazing and I had a lot of fun getting to know this group of people.
It didn’t take that long or I really got into this. Just as a hobby, but the costumes people made were so pretty. I never saw it in real life and I was amazed how great and well compared the outfits where.
Now I have quite a lot and quite often small cosplay/costumery photoshoots. It makes me smile to see how something changes from just a single weekend of photoshooting as a hobby; is now getting a part of my portfolio.
Since it’s getting so much; I decided it was time to make a own portfolio page for it. It took me some time, since I didn’t really knew how to do this, but it’s up, and I’m proud of the new page of amazing costumes and amazing people.
The page Costumes is now online!
